Many PUBG players still miss simple default keys that save seconds in fights and rotations. Here are the PC controls (default bindings) that are worth knowing by heart. You can rebind all of them in Settings → Controls.
Movement and peeking
- Q / E – lean left or right. In third person they also swap your camera shoulder, so you can peek from the safer side of cover.
- Left Alt (hold) + mouse – free look. Check behind you while you keep running in the same direction.
- = – auto run. Great for long rotations when you want to type in chat or check the map.
- Ctrl – walk quietly. C crouch, Z prone, Space jump/vault.
Shooting
- Right-click (tap) – scope/ADS toggle. Right-click (hold) – aim over the shoulder.
- Shift while scoped (first person) – hold breath for a steadier sight picture.
- Page Up / Page Down – change zeroing distance. Mouse wheel click resets it.
- B – switch fire mode (single, burst or auto, depending on the weapon). Check it after picking up a new gun.
- R while holding a grenade – cook it so it explodes sooner after the throw.
Vehicles
- Ctrl + 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 – switch seats. Ctrl + 1 jumps straight back into the driver's seat.
- Shift – boost, Space – handbrake.
Inventory and comms
- Tab – inventory. Ctrl + drag an item lets you split a stack, so you can drop only part of your ammo or meds for a teammate.
- Right-click an attachment – quick attach it to a weapon.
- T – push to talk, Ctrl + T – mute/unmute voice chat.
- Ctrl + U – hide the UI for clean screenshots.
Tip: after you change your binds, play a few matches in Training mode so the new keys become muscle memory.
